Our Philosophy
What does it mean to be human?
We take art to be the act of noticing — the discipline of apprehending beauty already present in the world. In that act of attention, a person is quietly changed, and becomes more beautiful in turn. Literature and poetry are not ornament but instruction: poetry as the discourse between being itself and the human soul; literature as both a record of past ideals and a shaping of the future.
We hope to stand as a positive light in a culture too often reduced to mere matter and metal — proliferating a sensitivity to beauty and depth, and reminding one another, through art, of our own purpose and nature. Ninth Heaven exists to bring the good things of the world to light, and to inspire the human spirit toward goodness.

How long is the probationary period?
New members serve a 90-day introduction to our community, culture and ways of working before full membership is confirmed.
Can I join from outside Australia?
Yes — International membership is available for those residing outside Australia, alongside our General, Student, Associate and Society/Chapter classes.
What does membership give me access to?
Access to the Ninth Heaven Literary Journal and our publications, opportunities to contribute to editorial, production, research and event work, and a place within a disciplined, formation-focused community.
How is the Association governed?
By an elected Committee and an Advisory Board, operating under our Constitution and policies.
